MEET SONIA ALTAMURA, THE SKIN LADY!
"When I started my esthetic career in 2006, I could have never imagined the journey that was ahead of me. My work experiences in salon and day spas, laser clinics, medical spas, and dermatology practices have led me to open my own business, The Skin Lady, located in Upstate NY. I use my treatment room time to train and coach my clients to reach their skincare goals through well rounded, client-centered treatments.
In the first decade of my career, I also became an EMT, an educator for the American Heart Association in CPR and BLS, and attended nursing school, as well as becoming a NYS teaching site for esthetic continuing education.
In addition, I was a technical writer and expert advisor for Milady Standard textbooks and Cengage Publishing. I have been able to use my passion for esthetics and love for instructing to make four educational videos and textbook content for schools around the country. This experience is what led me on a path to coach and train estheticians. In 2009, l discovered my true passion, dermaplaning, and became a dermaplane instructor, traveling the country bringing my passion, technique and expertise to trade shows and private classes.
Joining the Circadia team has been the highlight of my career. I have been able to certify over 4000 students, including international distributors where my education program is being used around the world! I have had the privilege to teach our UK distributors and travel to Germany and Africa showcasing my skills and teaching others how to Dermaplane. My deep affection for esthetics and coaching has brought me to the best places to share my wealth of knowledge and years of diverse experiences. Circadia University is now the home for one of my greatest accomplishments, and I hope that this course brings you endless success and growth. "
